• The Power Worshippers: Inside the Dangerous Rise of Religious Nationalism. An essential overview of the rise of 'Christian' nationalism and its impact on public education, health care, democracy, etc. Chattanooga gets a shout-out in here that's really important. (I'd read this one ASAP, given what's happening in our state legislature!)

• Dark Money: The Hidden History of the Billionaires Behind the Rise of the Radical Right (how it's all funded. A look at how philanthropy and nonprofits have been exploited to fund the radical right).
• The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together. A powerful book that talks about how we got here and how we can move forward with a positive message that breaks through efforts to divide us, racism, and culture wars.
• Supermajority: NPR Embedded. A look at the TN Republican Supermajority
